Gameplay

Combat is a core part in your journey as there will be monsters scattered around this corrupted world. You will need to use full range of combat abilities, both offensive and defensive, combining skills and combos to overcome your enemies. As you defeated enemies, you will unlock more weapons and skills to be in your arsenal.

Context Aware Attack

You only have one button to attack. But it's enough to launch a variety of attack. Different combos and move will launch depending on timings and conditions.

Smashing button multiple times? You launch a combo attack
Trying to attack while in the distance to enemy? You launch a dash attack
Pressing attack right after you parry? You launch a counter attack
Holding the button instead? You launch a charging attack
Attacking after successfully stagger the enemy? You launch a devastating retribution attack

Skills

Alongside your basic attack, you can also use skills to overcome your enemies. These skills will be really useful in some circumstances but beware because you cannot use it anytime you want. Your skills will goes on cooldown and you need to wait before it become usable again. So make sure you use this in a right moment and at the right time.

Block and Parrying

Grow a shield and take a defensive stance during combat to block enemy attack. Blocking too many consecutive attacks will break your guard and be vulnerable to incoming attacks.

But, if you trigger your block stance just as the enemy's attack about to land, you will parry the attack. This 'perfect block' maneuver is much riskier to deploy, but it will negate incoming damage without breaking your guard and even has the potential to stagger your enemies for devastating retribution attack.

Dodging

In some circumstances, it might make more sense to get out of the danger rather than attempting to block or parry a flurry of attacks. You can also use this to get some space and use potion if possible. However, by dodging at the very last second, you will trigger a Perfect Dodge. This allow you to pass through enemy attack, completely avoiding any damage while also giving you a little bit invulnerability afterwards.

Retribution Attack

Executing a parry will reduce enemy stagger point. Each enemy have different stagger points so the number of successful parry you need to knocks the enemy off-balance will differ. But, if you successfully reduce all the stagger points into zero, you will have a chance to launch a devastating retribution attack that deal huge damage and often kill an enemy instantly.

Unlock More Weapons and Moves

Upon defeating bosses in this world, you can collect their arts and use them as it is yours. Each weapons and their own pros and cons as well as some enemies have more resistance to one and weak to another. Weapons also have different set of skills but the cooldown is shared between weapons.
